110 years and counting on the Montreal coffee scene… Union is reputed for amazing classic espresso and custom blending for the best kitchens and cafés in the city.  Their retail flagship built on the premises of their original roastery, serves as their coffee laboratory and a wonderful resource for brewing advice, machines and accessories.

The beans are purchased from several countries and all are roasted to a particular profile so that each bean reaches its optimal taste when ground and brewed. This meticulous process and Café Union's expertise ensure that the end result is a coffee that is rich, flavourful and expresses all the complexity of their beans.

As a true family business nestled in the a booming Montreal neighbourhood, Café Union has retained its neighbourhood atmosphere and remains a true local, urban and unique business that has successfully acquired a clientele in Montreal and across Canada.

For 100 years, Café Union has been a company with a traditional flavour that continues to surpass itself to find the best equipment, to find and offer unique beans from around the world and to create blends that leave their mark on the coffee world.

Union 2021…Union Microlots is a reflection of their constant evolution; aims to share the beauty and diversity of coffee, while building relationships with farming communities. They hope to  encourage the empowerment of producers and the sustainability of specialty coffee production by carefully curating limited lots.

EMMANUEL RUSATIRA, MICROLOT #51

This amazing Rwandan coffee introduces their new Microlot series. They believe Emmanuel Rusatira is a great figure to start with, as he made his way to become a successful and independent coffee entrepreneur in his country. Dry-processed at the Bugoyi station, on the shores of Lake Kivu, his lot #51 comes from several smallholders in the area. The result reveals convincing notes of pear, blueberries and melon.

YIRGACHEFFE

Coming from various cooperatives in the Yirgacheffe region, their fully washed Ethiopian coffee has quite a reputation. Because of their tradition of making personalized blends, this coffee has become a not-so-secret ingredient over the years and quickly became a safe bet for customers. Its stone fruit, molasses and cookie dough aromas sell themselves and the medium-light roast profile make it a great candidate for all brewing methods!

JUPITER BLEND

The Jupiter blend is one of the first bright-ish blends that gained popularity at  Cafe Union. Juicy and sweet, it turned out to be really accessible to many different palates, from old-fashioned to trendy ones. It is a combination of Yirgacheffe and Tarrazu coffees, both wet-processed at various local washing stations. They usually serve the Jupiter as an espresso to fully enjoy its berries aroma, its bright flavours of lime zest and its sweet finale.
