Little Buffalo Coffee was started by travel-loving, adventure-seeking founder and head roaster, Drew Smith. While living and traveling throughout Central and South America, coffee became a way for him to connect to the cultures and communities that surrounded him. After spending time in coffee growing regions he began to understand the complex and labor intensive production process and decided he wanted to do something more to give back to these communities that support this industry. Combining his passion for coffee and desire to give back, Little Buffalo Coffee was born.

Little Buffalo Coffee specializes in sourcing unique, single-origin, fruit forward, and bright coffees. They specifically work with farmers who strive for perfection in every lot they cultivate to bring you the highest quality coffee possible. 

They fundamentally believe that every farmer and farm worker should be paid a fair living wage, which is why Little Buffalo Coffee is dedicated to paying a premium to every farm they work with. They have also decided to only work with coffee importers who support various local community initiatives that further economic, social, and sustainable development. 

 

Little Buffalo Coffee's goal is to bring the stories of these farmers and introduce you to the communities they live in through each cup of coffee they roast. They believe that coffee can connect you to the people, the land, and the cultures of this world and they invite you to be part of their journey!

BANKO GOTITI - ETHIOPIA

This naturally processed coffee from the Banko Gotiti washing station in Southern Ethiopia is one of their favourite offerings to date. It's packed full of fruit flavours, with standout notes of wild blueberry, ripe strawberry, and a sweetness that permeates through the cup. It's perfect as a pour over and has scored at over 92 points, This is an exceptional coffee for anyone looking to have a fruit bomb in a cup.

LA MONTANA - GUATEMALA

This crystal clear micro-lot comes by way of Emilio Villatoro from La Montaña farm in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Emilio has been working this small lot for over 20 years and has produced extremely high quality coffees from it. As soon as they tasted this coffee they immediately noticed its red apple, white grape, and apricot notes. This was quickly followed up by a light honey sweetness and finished off with beautiful sparkling acidity. If you like bright and extra clean coffees this will be your go to.

OBDULIO MANCIA - HONDURAS

They are proud to offer this single origin, pacas variety, from Obduilo Mancia and the team at Cafesmo. Finca Mancia is a small farm at just 2 hectares, located in the far west of Honduras, right up on the border of El Salvador, in the municipality of Mercedes. Little Buffalo tasted many coffees from this region and decided to go with this specific lot due to the fantastic flavours created from a light roast. When tasting they noticed at first sip a light lemon and ginger flavour, followed by an extremely smooth chocolatey aftertaste. This coffee is as easy as it gets for a daily morning coffee.
